In the summer of 2007 I took on a school project to set up my own one-girl exhibition.
This was less about the quality of my photography and far more an exercise in organisa
tion,
marketing and low-level enterprise. The exhibition took place in a public hall in
the market town of Buntingford and I managed to win a lot of support from the local
newspaper the Herts Mercury both before and after the exhibition. That, and a lot
of marketing activity involving local businesses taking flyers and putting up professional-looking
posters in the town ensured a good attendance on the day. Mainly it was about the
logistical challenge and getting a first business experience but I also managed to
sell 17 photographs during the day.

As well as organising the printing and framing of the 52 pictures on show, I had to generate flyers, posters and signage outside the hall. The small brochure I put together showed thumbnail pictures, titles and prices.
